The Asian Poker Tour, otherwise known as the APT, has just released the dates of its first major poker events for this year. The APT Philippines 2010 is set to take place at the Resort Worlds complex in Manila between 23 and 29 August. The APT Macau is usually held during August so this represents a shift from the regular pattern. Nevertheless, APT Philippines is still expected to draw a huge field of talented poker players. Last year there were 262 players in total with Neil Arce coming out on top to win the 2009 title plus $185,000 in prize money. There will be buy ins at US $2,500 + $200 and many of the leading online poker rooms will be running satellite tournaments to qualify for the event, such as Poker Stars.
What is the APT? Only Asia’s biggest and original poker tour that is continuing to grow in popularity. Since 2008, there have been four events: two in the Philippines and another two in Macau. The most successful event would have been the one held in Macau last year.
