Facebook introduces Poker Rivals

News just in for all Facebook and poker fans…  You can now enjoy your favourite game on your favourite social networking site, Facebook.  British-based Playfish Limited has just teamed up with FB to launch the Poker Rivals beta test application. We’ve been able to play Texas Hold’em Poker on FB for some time now thanks to Zynga but Poker Rivals will supposedly include new features such as the option to purchase items using your poker winnings. Plus, you’ll be able to modify your avatars and animate your characters. The games is still in beta and is not actually being actively promoted at this stage so I’m sure more improvements will follow soon.

If you haven’t heard of Playfish before, then get ready to hear a whole lot more about them in the future. They are widely regarded as being one of the world’s largest and fastest growing social games companies and were recently purchased by Electronic Arts for a staggering $400 million!
